Last week I watched a video of Tony Robbins talking about his morning routine. This got me thinking about my own morning and evening rituals; as well as my daily habits and how I can improve my daily productivity.
After a couple of hours re-doing my schedule and applying my new daily routines, I have finally developed a structure and a new focus that effectively gets me through the day working smarter not harder.
My new daily ritual ensures a balance between my professional and personal life; so I have gathered a few tips of what I think are daily habits of successful people.
Have a consistent Schedule – My life is incredibly busy and without a disciplined and consistent schedule, I would get nothing done and be completely lost in my tasks and my never ending to-do lists. Having a balanced daily schedule makes me be more productive and I can get through my day feeling I have accomplished all I needed and wanted to.
Plan your top 3 most important tasks – I highly recommend reading ‘Eat that frog’ by Brian Tracey, he talks about eating your biggest frog of the day first thing in the morning. Give attention to your most tedious task and get it done, so that you have time for your other tasks. Give yourself a deadline for each task you need to do today. I always pick my top 3 tasks I need to get done every day and I ensure I do these tasks before anything else.
Gratitude – Every Single morning I wake up with a grateful heart, I thank God for blessing me with my health, for another day, for my job, my friends, family and so on. When you stop and look around, you realise just how much there is to be grateful for in this life and just how blessed and lucky we truly are. I am grateful for all the good and bad as the challenging times builds our strength and allows us to grow as a person. We learn from hard times, losses and failures and being able to experience all these gifts at all, are a gift in itself.
Inspire others – I absolutely love being a Life Coach and being able to connect with a lot of different people on a daily basis. I love to always give out positive energy and make others feel empowered. You never know who you are inspiring just by being someone with a positive, confident and influential attitude.
Step out of your comfort zone – Sometimes I have things on some days where I am completely out of my comfort zone. For example, I am still terrified of public speaking and sometimes I will be asked to stand up in front of a group of kids and give a motivational speech or even present reports at work and I remind myself of the quote ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. I accept the challenge as through life challenges we grow into our strength.
Educate yourself – Every day without fail I am always listening and feeding my mind with something I can educate myself and learn from. I am obsessed with audible books and listening to Ted x. So I have made it a daily habit for at least one hour a day, I will read or listen to a podcast that enriches my mind and help me grow my personal development so my psychology keeps getting stronger and stronger on a daily basis.
Believe in yourself – No matter what life throws at you, the most important opinion to you is what you tell yourself. Some of us feel the need to seek validation and approval of other in order to be capable or do something. This is a weak way of thinking. Being your own best friend, your own cheerleader on a daily basis will get you through everything and anything you face on a daily basis. No one else is going to make your dreams a reality but you.
Get sexy – We all know without a good health and fitness routine our body starts to shut down and become weaker overtime and as we get older. It is very important that we are in check with our health (what we eat and put into our body) and our fitness routine (psychical movement) on a daily basis. Some people are gym junkies, other love to run out doors and even join team sports. For me, my hobby of choice is Krav Maga (Israeli Martial Arts). I have been in love with and doing martial arts ever since I can remember. It is great for disciplining the mind and an incredible workout that works out every part of your body.
Social Hour – I try and make time for friends and family when I can. I think it is very important to keep close those who support and love you. Even if I am just catching up with a friend for lunch or dinner or a telephone call to my family, having this balance keeps our sanity and is essential for our general well-being.
If you have any further tips for daily habits, routines and rituals, I would love to hear to your ideas.
Until next time, have a beautiful and productive week everyone.
